Maui… It holds a special place in my heart; It’s where my husband and I honeymooned to six years ago and where we’ve since vacationed to not once, but twice… For free (basically).
If you happen to be a travel freak like me, you just might be interested in this post. I thought it was only right to share our so called “secret” with you so that we can all celebrate in the amazingness of free vacations. And I know EXACTLY what you’re thinking right now only because I, too, had the exact same thoughts when we were first told that we could travel for free… Sounds too good to be true, right?? Well let’s put it this way… if you have a decent credit score and are somewhat responsible, this deal is right up your alley and I think you’d pretty much be crazy NOT to do it (in my humble opinion). It’s not some genius idea I came up with, rather an idea that is marketed but for whatever reason, not too many people know about it.
Check out the website above (and no I am not endorsed by them- I honestly just truly believe in it and all of the helpful information it provides). It will give you alllllllll the details on how to get free airfare & flights by basically playing games with credit cards. Is it wrong? Nope, not at all. You’re pretty much just taking advantage of the best credit card offers out there. You’ll want to click on the option at the top that says “new to miles and points”. And don’t feel overwhelmed… there is a lot of info to take in, but it’s like anything new, the more you do it the more you’ll get it. I will warn you, you do have to have a decent credit score to get started…. Somewhere in the upper 600’s, low 700’s is where you want to be.
One of our favorite places to stay is at the Hyatt Regency on Kanaapali beach. Because we’ve stayed there a few times and are most likely in their system, we received an offer in the mail a few months ago to stay at their resort for 5 nights for $299 (TOTAL!) if we would agree to sit through their time share presentation. We looked at each other and thought the exact same thing… no way could we pass it up. Thankfully, we already had two free roundtrip flights saved and ready for us to use as we are planning on taking our family this next Summer. So there ya have it- our 5 night trip to Maui cost us a grand total of $299! Pretty crazy huh?! The credit card we got approved for and used to receive two free roundtrip airfares to Maui is still available. I’ve listed the link below…
So depending on where exactly you want to stay, right now you can take advantage of free nights at anywhere from the Hyatt, Fairmont, Hilton, Marriott, etc… I’m sure there are more… everything that is currently available will be listed on the site I mentioned above.
And people this will NOT ruin your credit score. My husband and I have told so many people about this and always wonder why very few people take advantage of it (<—– I’m thinking this is why). If you’re smart, pay your bills on time, have a decent credit score, and obviously don’t apply for 17 credit cards in one day- you’ll be just fine 😉 AND you’ll be traveling the world for close to nothing!!! Score!
We actually just started another round of applying for credit cards (as I mentioned above) for our family Hawaii trip this next Summer. Were excited/nervous/crazy for taking our kids with us this time- HA! 😉 It will be an adventure, that’s for sure!…One with lots of memories and stories to be told. If any of you mama’s have advice for traveling on airplanes/to Hawaii with kids- please do share!
Well, there’s my traveling advice for ya!
Below is a recap in pics of our most recent trip to Maui, a muuuuch needed getaway to refresh, recoup, and feel human again. Wishing we could go back tomorrow.
This bird & I had a love fest going on. But really- I had to visit her every time we walked down to the lobby. Ask Trav- we even got into an argument about how much time I wanted to spend with her 🙂
