The importance of Mothers Day this year

Mothers Day- A day all moms look forward to, because not to toot my own horn or anything, but dang do we deserve a day of recognition! There is so much to be said of moms… we sacrifice and love more than we even knew possible. We clean up messes, feed hungry mouths, kiss boo boos, clean up more messes, and feed again. The to-do lists are never ending and it can often feel like ground hog day. But one thing I know is this: there is no greater job on earth. I am beyond blessed and grateful to be a mom. I love my kids more than they will ever know and to try to convey that in simply words is just not going to happen. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them. They are my everything.

This year’s Mothers Day is extra special for me because all of my kids are “here”. That might sound a little strange but what I’m trying to say is, our family is complete. I get to celebrate Mother’s Day with all of the little’s that will ever call me “mom”. It’s a pretty special thing.

Ella: You fit the first born theory to a T. You are a leader, outgoing, compassionate, wise beyond your years (too smart!), conscientious, caring, thoughtful, an over-achiever, driven, friendly to everyone you know, always have a joke up your sleeve, and are always rooting for the under dog. You, my dear, are too much like your mama and it sometimes scares me 😉 I can’t wait to see where that vivacious and go getter personality takes you in life!

Brooklyn: You’ve captured me from day 1. There’s just something about you buddy that will always have me wrapped around your little finger. I’m not sure if it’s your big brown eyes, low raspy voice, those chubby cheeks, contagious smile, or the cutest dimples that get me. You are loved by EVERYONE you know! You have a way of capturing people that is unexplainable. Your sensitive and tender hearted but ALL boy! You’ll play with cars and fight with swords only to turn around and play dress up with sissy (Elsa & Anna to be more specific). There’s no doubt in my mind that your future is bright!

Jude: You my little dude are the icing on the cake. Even though you were a complete surprise 🙂 you’ve completed our little family and there’s no way I can imagine life without you now. We call you our little old man. So sweet of us, I know 🙂 But we just can’t help it (I promise you you’ll get cuter). You make the silliest faces, go cross-eyed while trying to focus in on us, and that receding hair line just seals the deal! You are our easiest baby so far and all I can say is KEEP IT UP BUDDY!!! & Thank you! 🙂 No really, thank you!

One of the ways I celebrated Mothers Day this year was by doing a photo shoot with all of my kiddos. We captured some shots that I just love and will enjoy having years down the road. I was excited to partner with Joe Fresh on this shoot as they have a great assortment of womens, mens, and kids apparel to choose from (honestly the comfiest white jeans & a perfect find for Summer!) I recently discovered them online and was drawn to their laid back style and affordable prices. It can often be difficult to find kids clothing that is cute AND affordable so thank you Joe Fresh for making it easy to shop for this mama!
