We are well into the Holiday season and I can’t even believe it! As a blogger your mind is always trying (<—key word) to think ahead of times so that you’re on top of it when “the time” actually comes. Christmas parties, decor, outfits, and present ideas are consuming me! I have some fun things planned the next couple of months and I can’t wait to share.
On another note…
If there’s a word/theme that currently summarizes my life, it would be intentionality. I feel like I talk a lot about that word on here and there’s a reason behind it all. Being a mom (a working mom at that), I’ve realized the importance of being extremely intentional with my time. Sometimes people ask me how I do it all and my response is almost always, I don’t. But if there is one thing I can say that makes me feel somewhat accomplished or capable of living this fun-filled/busy/and sometimes stressful life I live, it’s that I have chosen to be intentional with my time. I haven’t always been this way, rather it’s a way I’ve chosen & learned to live over the past year or two. I can look back now and say- that is how I want to continue to live. When I’m with my kids, I’m with my kids. They deserve my undivided attention, and I’ve realized that if/when I’m half way there (mainly mentally)- our time together feels incomplete. They can feel it, and so can I. When we’re intentional with our time, those things we didn’t get done seem to not bother us as much because we truly put out our best effort into what we did that day.
The phrase we’ve all heard a million times “the days are long but the years are short” is something I tell myself every single day. When I feel the tug or desire to open my phone or hop on the computer, I try to come back to that phrase to put things into perspective. The last couple of weeks, it’s been hitting me hard just how big my kids are getting. The fact that my first born, my daughter, is almost SIX just makes me want to cry. She’s literally a real person now (you know what I mean) and I don’t even know how it happened. I swear I was just rocking her to sleep or watching her little toes twirl in circles as fast as she could as she got excited about me feeding her bites of ice-cream. These are the moments I want to remember and cherish, and if I choose to live my life in an unintentional way, I’ll unintentionally miss those moments- the one’s that matter the most.

Let’s choose to live intentionally this Holiday season and I promise you’ll look back and think ‘this is the life I want to live’.
