There is nothing more precious to me than these babies of mine. Motherhood is an unexplainable hood. A hood filled with the highest of highs and a good number of lows. You feel and love far beyond what you knew existed. When your babies hurt, you hurt. When they cry, you cry. They are forever a part of you and nothing can separate your love.
One of the hardest things to wrap my mind around is sick kids… kids that have to live at a hospital due to a serious and oftentimes deadly disease. My children’s health is not something I take for granted. I know there are many families who are praying for that miracle for their child.
I’ve partnered with the newly opened Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to share how incredible this newly updated facility is. In December of this past year, they opened their doors to a brand new hospital. If you live in the Bay Area or Northern California and should ever need access to an innovative pediatrics hospital, look no further. Every aspect of the hospital was considered with kids and families in mind. Everything is centered around patients, bringing a sense of normalcy and peace to the patients and their families. One of my favorite aspects is the nature touch you will find throughout the facility. Patients windows look out into the gardens, they have strategically placed planter boxes outside the rooms, and the number of playgrounds built throughout brings another sense of normalcy that helps kids feel like kids, despite being in a hospital. They also have an increased capacity to care for more patients than ever before.
