Updated Hair Care Products

Most of you know I’ve been struggling with damaged hair for quite some time. It was fried off about 3-4 months ago and it’s been quite the process trying to bring it back to life and avoid future breakage. I’ve got a nice (unwanted) bowl cut layer going on. Be jealous 😉

I’ve been very cautious and purposeful in thinking about everything I use/put on my hair. Everything from the paddle brush I now use to the hair ties (another bonus is that they don’t leave a crease in your hair when you let it down- yasss) to the numerous hair care products. I’ve picked up a ton of things from Nordstrom of course, as they rarely let me down! They carry a lot of prestige hair care lines which means you’re investing into the best of the best. I’ve been really impressed by almost everything I’ve tried.

I currently use Pureology shampoo/conditioner but plan on switching to this new Aveda line soon. I’ve heard amazing things about it from so many bloggers who have tried it out. It’s suppose to help prevent future hair loss and bring back new growth. It’s a little more on the expensive side, but I’ve yet to hear of something cheaper that works as well.

I’ve also become obsessed with every product I’ve tried from the Oribe line. Specifically, this Gold Lust  Hair Oil. It smells amazing and really works to provide nourishment and a good base for your hair. I put it on my damp hair and then also follow up with a little bit more after I blow dry it for shine and control.

Also, make sure you are not applying too much heat to your hair. That’s the biggest lesson I’ve learned. If you can get away without blowdrying it, do it (I can’t, my hair is too wavy/frizzy). And avoid curling your ends if possible. I’ve used this interchangeable curling wand for a while and leave out the ends of my hair when curling it. Whatever little tricks you can do to protect your hair from extra heat will help in the long run.

And if you have any tips that have majorly helped save your hair, please send them my way! I’m all ears!

Your hair is looking gorgeous! I bought those hair ties and although I do think they cut down on damage (my blonde hair is thin and straight) they still leave a crease in my hair! Oh well, can’t win them all! I love that Oribe oil too (and the texturizer spray).
