All Things Hair

Happy Monday!!!

I’ve written a few blog posts surrounding all things hair but since it seems to be a reoccurring question, I thought I’d do an updated one including some recent products I’ve tried.

First and foremost… EXTENSIONS!!! I can’t express enough how big of a difference just this one addition will make. It will add volume, texture, (almost always) length, and the biggest bonus? You can get away without washing your hair for days! Spray a little dry shampoo on your roots and you’re good to go! I have used and love this one and this one. Most of all, you will not get the volume I have in my hair if you don’t have extensions (there are very few people who have as much and as thick of hair naturally).

Also, make sure you are using the right curling iron or wand. This one from Nordstrom has been my go- to for quite some time now. I typically use the larger wand but have been using this interchangeable curling iron as well. I start from the middle/top and focus on curling the middle section while leaving about two inches out at the bottom. It creates more of an overall messy/tasseled vibe. There are a few reasons it’s important to invest into a nicer curling wand… A. Your hair will curl faster because typically the wand will get hotter than the average curling wand. Obviously you do have to be careful on how long you hold your hair on the wand but this means less time and overall better curl. B. Typically a better curling wand is made out of nicer materials meaning they won’t be as damaging to your hair. I’ve been super happy with my T3 Wand even though it is a little bit on the pricier end. The way I look at it is it’s literally something I use (almost) every single day and it makes a huge difference in my morning routine and overall hair look.

Lastly, be sure to use the right styling products! This will ensure your hair will be strengthened, protected, and styled correctly. Below are a few tried and true products I personally love…

Your extensions are beautiful! Do you mind sharing what kind they are and where you buy them (and are they tape in or sew in -I have no idea about that). Also, how long is your hair naturally without extensions? I’ve been toying with getting them for a long time, but I work out (Orangetheory!!!) 5x a week, and put my hair in a pony, so I worry about what shape they’ll be in. I know you also work out a lot so can you share any tips for keeping them from getting knotted up? Thanks! Your hair is so pretty 🙂

Hey girl! So a lot of girls (I’d say most) use clip-in extensions… I do not. I don’t feel like you get as much volume with them, however, it is way worse for your hair, so it’s a toss up! I use all different brands and buy from my local wig store. Just obviously you want to make sure you’re matching up with your hair color. Hope that helps!

You have the best hair! I love your extensions as well! If you don’t buy the clip in extentions, which ones do you use? Do you have your hairdresser put them in?

Hi Kelly! Thank you!! I just use the kind that doesn’t have clips on them- they are sewn in. Yep, I have my hair dresser sew them in and they last for 2-3 months until they need to be re-done again.
