Fourth of July Recap

4th of July, 2016: We partied from sun up til sun down and then some more. I’m a huge fan of Holiday’s… all of them… so going all out is usually never a problem for me. If anything, I probably need to tame down my celebrating at times. My husband often wonders why I have to buy everything red, white, and blue or everything green and red etc. It’s just too fun celebrating Holiday’s to the fullest! The Fourth of July comes in second place (Christmas always being the first) as I love anything that unites crowds and brings people together. To say I’m a little bit excited for the Olympics is an understatement! I’m going to be GLUED to the TV and loosing sleep over it in just a few weeks!

I’ve kind of gotten into the whole Snapchat thing recently. At first you should have seen me- I looked like an 87 year old using an iPhone for the first time (Seriously Snapchat people, you gotta make it a little more user friendly). Once I got things somewhat figured out, I’ve been loving it. It’s kind of my new Instagram. I love that you can share pics or videos and my favorite part is how candid and random your story can be. I guess you could say it’s not so “picture perfect”. It gives you a behind the scenes look at people’s lives- real lives 😉 Make up, no make-up, clothes, no clothes (kids- ha!), and a whole lot more. So… 1. If you’re not on Snapchat- GET WITH THE PROGRAM and sign up! It’s fun, I promise. 2. Follow along with me at Mamamelly5 (another annoying thing I’m going to complain about- obviously I would have picked Ellabrooksblog but you can’t change your username once you’ve created it- bleh!)

So here’s my Snapchat story from the 4th of July because I basically over snapped (had to cut into two videos because it was too big to upload) but thought it captured our day pretty well (including the necessary coffee break after a few meltdowns from our two youngest… I’ll give Jude a break since he’s a baby but the other one, no.) I also included the 3rd as we started our festivities a day early by bringing out a few fireworks for the kiddos…

Hope y’all had an awesome fourth with your family & friends! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Hi Brooklyn! Most of my pictures are taken by my iPhone unless they’re taken by my photographer Ashley (I’m not sure what she uses)- every once in a while my hubby will shoot some of me with our camera which is just a Canon rebel.

Awesome, the Canon Rebel is what I have as well. I have always loved it and have been trying out different lens’ with it. I always love your photos though. The quality and the filters (if you are using them). P.S. your family is adorable!! Love reading your blog. It’s inspiring for other mommas like myself!

Your family is the absolute cutest! I am so behind the times and still haven’t made the leap to get Snapchat. I work at a school and always feel so old when I have 6th graders talking about things they post/see on there and I’m sitting there like, “um, I don’t understand. I’m not cool.” I’m sure someday I will make the jump and join, if only to see what all the hype is about!

Thank you! 🙂 And I totally feel you! It’s totally grown on me and I find myself loving it more and more the more I use it.
