I picked this specific picture for this post because I feel like it accurately depicts vacation with kids at times. We were on a “glamping” trip to Meondocino, CA and it was just one of those moments. My sister said something a while back that has stuck with me – we have to call/look at family vacations as trips. If we call it a vacation, that’s exactly what we’ll look at it as and we’ll be disappointed when the crazy times arise. If we look at it as a trip and memories to create, I think we’ll lower our expectations a little and maybe even laugh off the craziness that comes with traveling with kids.
The reason for this post…
I love when I throw out a question on Instagram and ask for your guys’ advice. You always come through and provide so much good info. I think this is becoming a thing- I throw out a question, you guys answer, and I share all of the answers with y’all!
So we leave for Cabo on Sunday to spend some quality time with my dad (my brother and his girlfriend were suppose to join us too but my brother had to bow out due to work obligations). If you’re new around here, I’ve talked about how my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 prostate cancer about six – nine months ago. It’s been a long road and it was pretty scary there for a little while, we weren’t sure what the future held, but long story short, he is currently cancer free and we are obviously SO happy and relieved.
With that in mind, I asked what activities/games you all give your kids while traveling in the car/plane. Keep in mind I have a 7, 5, and 2 year old so all of these things are for kids around these ages.
So many great ideas! I picked up stickers, wiki sticks, playdoh, WOW color books, candy 😉 , and window clings for our plane ride. Wish us luck!
Oh! And check out these plush animal backpacks I got for each of my kids to carry their things. So cute and such a steal for $10 – $12 each!
